It's been long since I blogged about makeup, so, here I am ready to talk about makeup and this time it concerns...LIPSTICK! A lot of people think that all you need to do to apply lipstick on your lips is to swipe it to and fro on your lips, I used to think that too, but there are a lot of processes involved in applying the lipstick...there are before and after procedures involved too, and that's why you think celebrities have the perfect lips, they really don't...they just have good make-up artists who tell them what to do or who just do it for them. These tips are rare and very handy...enjoy and thank me later! And before I go on I did like to point out that, no matter how expensive a lipstick is, if not applied the right way, a not-so-expensive and common lip-stick applied the right way would look better.
So, here are the steps:
1. Buff your lips before application, no matter how moisturized you keep your lips, you should always buff them up before wearing lipstick. To buff em up, all you need is the regular scrub, or your tooth brush, this removes the dry skin on your lips. After this, use your lip balm as a primer and moisturiser.
2. In the battle against lipstick bleeding, it is always recommended to use a lip liner. The lip liner is also recommended because it is a very good lip shaper and for those with fuller lips it gives the illusion of smaller lips. I would love to recommend a clear lip liner as it goes with any colour of lipstick you have on, all you have to do is use it to trace the outer edge of your lips. A very good clear lip liner is the Make Up For Ever’s Lip Line Perfector.(google it)
3. For the most part, that's the actual application, you should gently blot your lips with tissue papper, especially the inner part of it as it is always wet, this gives more surface for applicaion. Then with a lip brush(for fuller control) or from the tube, you should apply your lipstick. A darker shade of lipstick usually makes the lip look smaller so, for fuller lips, you could try exaggerating your natural lip line slightly but do not go outside the lip line.
4. This is an important step especially if you want your lipstick to last longer. Using a tissue paper, gently blot the colour you have applied, don't go too forcefully, so as to avoid little white things appearing on your mouth, and don't be bothered if the colour is looking a bit dull now...the next steps take care of that.
6. For the perfect finish, you have two options...
* A glossy finish: You could swipe on your lipgloss.
* A matte finish: Dust your powder or bronzer above your lips and viola, your done!
P:S: Trending lipsticks, Tangerine Orange, Poppy Red and Candy pink!
